I present to you the Strange Machine. Not only strange because it sounds so strange. Also strange, because it looks so really really strange.
About 50 minutes of sound to skip through:
A friend of mine uploaded this handy-video, have a look:
It’s a half digital, half analog machine: the brain is an Arduino, which reads the input of several pots and translates that to output various kinds of LED blinking patterns. Photoresistors, which are attached to the LEDs using heat shrink control a really strange analog feedback circuit that involves a heart of Schmitt Triggers and lots of chaos. More pots and buttons are attached to manipulate the circuit, which then outputs that wonderful strange sounds you can listen to above.
Making it more solid and transportable – which means solid and transportable at all – is definitely on my list.
